Are there any issues with a 2013 Ford F-150? ›

Fuse #27 runs the fuel pump. It's a common problem and Ford makes a "fuel pump fuse relocation kit" for $20.

Here's how to replace a blown fuse:

Open the fuse box door. Inspect each fuse using a flashlight to find the one that is burned or melted (the working fuses will have a clear glass casing but the blown one will look cloudy or blackened).

Sometimes a fuse is bad but not necessarily blown. In this case, the best way to test it is with a test light or a multimeter. These are both relatively inexpensive tools and provide an easy way of checking if there's a current running through the fuse.

Blown fuse – Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best one. A blown fuse in the starter circuit could be the cause of a no-start problem. Broken or corroded wiring – Damaged or dirty wires to the battery or to the starter solenoid (or wires that are loose) can prevent sufficient power from reaching the starter.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 F-150 vehicles manufactured August 1, 2013, to August 31, 2014 equipped with 3.5L engines. The master cylinder rear cup seal may roll, resulting in brake fluid leakage from the primary reservoir into the brake booster.

An ECM, or Electronic Control Module, is an automotive computer module, and a direct application of battery or alternator power to the ECM module may damage the module, so the power circuit is “fused”, has a fuse in the power line.

Alternatively, “F” stands for “Fast” or “fast acting fuses” with the “FF” rating for ultra-rapid fuses such as the one shown here. The ultra-rapid fuses operate at higher temperatures so are ideal to provide circuit protection to semiconductor devices.
