Warwick Valley High School gave me plenty of experiences to gain from. From homecoming week to junior/senior prom I have gained many memories to look back upon. I will forever enjoy the drama program and the shows we were able to perform for the community. However, while the school has given me great experiences I can't ignore the classism and the influence of the white majority. As a minority, I had no resources to turn to in need. I remember multiple events of racism and discrimination being put aside as the student had a higher status within our community. Blatant racist acts or threats would be "put under investigation" but the perpetrators would walk onto campus scott-free. Change needs to be down.

Pretty average. Academically well but very much a funnel school to college, not as open to other paths. Faculty is extremely hit or miss, with the misses being awful but there's a few good ones in the mix

Overall, I've had a good experience at this school. I've connected personally with many of the teachers (it's mostly been great academically speaking). I've taken mostly AP/Honors classes and gotten good grades. The library has many resources and kind staff. Administration boasts about the wifi but it's spotty at times, and the blocks on school chromebooks are excessively restrictive. The guidance counselors aren't terribly helpful, but they are nice. There's some drug use in the bathrooms, and are sometimes closed/crowded because of this (it can be a hassle just to use the bathroom). I feel generally included and safe as a marginalized student. There are a diverse amount of clubs, but they almost exclusively take place during lunch-- I would like this to be expanded so that students have more opportunity to relax during the day. Generally speaking, I've had a very good experience at WVHS, and as a senior, I'll miss it!
