Great professor. However, don't take this course unless you want to become a game developer or play a variety of games. I noticed that most people in this class took it because they were only interested in video games, but they didn't have the interest or drive to become actual game developers, or they didn't play many games.

The worst professor I have taken at UNC Charlotte. He teaches Game Design which I thought would be a fun class. Dude gave 4 essays, one of which was a 3-page research paper, 3 exams, 2 group projects, and assignments pretty much every class. Gave a 44-question final in 48 mins that included short essays lol. Don't take if you don't have to.

Not one but TWO group projects (no idea why), and THREE large tests that are all vocabulary and "terms" that you'd never need to remember in the future. He always has an attitude, drags his lectures past the time limit, and just constantly assigns work without talking about it. He gatekeeps his "test review sessions" to being in-person only.

The dude isn't too bad. The TAs are very good. The assignments and labs are similar to coding questions on the tests, so as long as you understand how to do those you should be good. His lectures for the assembly part of the class aren't very helpful though, so be sure to ask him and the TAs questions about anything you don't understand.

Do NOT take this professor whatever you do. Take anyone but him. He's so out of touch its ridiculous. Be prepared to complete "in class" activities that should take hours depending on skill level in 15 minutes after class is done. Anyone but him would be better at teaching this class. This man will do absolutely nothing to help you.

Honestly I really enjoyed his energy for teaching. But I think having ITSC1212 as a perquisite isn't enough experience. I am a senior, so I didn't struggle with the concepts but I would have if i was a beginner. C++/Assembly in used this class be prepare to study a lot for assembly, it is a hard language. We also had 15min quizzes w/ code questions

Class lectures were 50 minutes, but never done on time. Regularly, we had to stay late to finish assignments before the deadline. Readings were sometimes posted less than 24 hrs in advance. Keep up with the Canvas calendar not to miss a due date. If he is the only choice, you'll be fine, but I'd recommend taking another section.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT take this professor. He believes students can finish long assignments in under 15 minutes after his class. There was an "in class" assignment almost every day and expected it to be done right after class ended in under 15 minutes. I never got these assignments in on time and he deducts points based on lateness.

If I didn't have to go to class I would have never gone. TA's are amazing, he is not. So much busy work and he's so far removed from being in undergrad that he has no idea how long it takes us to do things. Halfway through the year he had to switch assignment due dates from 15 min after class to midnight because nobody could finish.

Mandatory attendance. Uses pollev but also does headcounts so you can't get away with doing pollev from home. Doesnt have a clear grasp of how much time students need so you will be struggling the day of each assignment which are unlocked a few mins into class and then locked a few mins after class. 10 min quizzes, and tests that are half finished.

Get ready to go through so many topics at speeds that students might not be able to grasp so quickly due to feedback (especially during assembly) being slow. Prereq is literally only 1212 and I know students don't even have a good grasp of arrays at the end of that class. This class is too difficult for right out of 1212. Cumulative final so study.

Dr. B is tough, but fair. Estimation of students capability is a bit high, considering the only course prereq is 1212. LOTS of reading, hw, and quizzes. Vast majority of assignments are mostly coding and can be challenging. Same with tests, tho they are overly long and challenging. Be prepared to WORK and WORK FAST. Don't take alongside 2214.

Honestly, I get assembly is hard, but if the whole class is struggling and you know everyone has a problem with a topic, why do you not listen to the feedback of your students. The prereq is 1212 but you are going to need a lot more background knowledge than just 1212. He brushes feedback off bc we are guinea pigs since we are the first 2181 class.

There is a free textbook for the class, but you don't necessarily need to read it to do well. This class is demanding, so take it if this what you're pursuing.

He was okay. Half your grade is made up of group projects, of which a third of your grade is based on peer reviews. I wrote more lines of code than any of my teammates and their scores ended up being the deciding factor for me getting a B. Also, what prof doesn't round up a 89.?? to an A?
